Did You Know
A fact from this article appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the "Did you know?" column on October 13, 2009.
The text of the entry was: Did you know ... that Anders Haugen, one of the 104 medalists at the 1924 Winter Olympics, was awarded his bronze medal in ski jumping fifty years after the games ended?

Curling issue[edit]

I was refurbishing this page when I bumped into a couple of strange things:

  1. The two curling silver medals awarded to two different Swedish teams; and
  2. The double participation of D.G. Astley for both Great Britain and Sweden.

Where can be this confirmed? In the Olympic report, there is nothing saying about the existence of two curling teams from Sweden. The closest thing I've found was the at the Sports-Reference database, where it says that Sweden fielded different rosters for the two games it played, which is quite distinct from fielding two entirely independent teams. As for Astley, the report does not make any reference to his putative participation for Sweden, nor the IOC credits him with any medal other than the British gold.
