Smith River[edit]

I have removed the section about Smith River because the use of pesticides in agriculture is not specific to growing lily bulbs, and the consequences described are of local interest and not particularly relevant to a global encyclopedia audience. This is a case of putting undue weight on an aspect that isn't really about Lilium longiflorum. It is coatrack on which a single-purpose editor is hanging an unrelated issue about which he wishes to soap box. Gnome de plume (talk) 14:57, 29 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Karen Hoel[edit]

I'm not very experienced about this subject or wikipedia editing, I'm just a high school biology student, but I'm pretty sure that one of the pictures (the second one) is not a lilium longiflorum, but a lilium candidum. The main flower looks very simlar, but if you look at the leafs you can see that they are much smaller and tighter placed. Making the locals sick? You need a goddamned reference for that[edit]

The statement that the pesticides being used on the lilies are making the locals sick needs a reference. It is absolutely irresponsible to make a claim of this magnitude WITHOUT A REFERENCE FROM A PEER-REVIEWED JOURNAL. Irish Republican Easter Lily[edit]

The reference as it stands to the Irish Republican Easter Lily is out of place. According to Easter_Lily_(badge), it is a badge in the shape of a calla lily, an unrelated plant.

Actually, according to the disambiguation page, this is just one type of lily considered an Easter lily. That should probably be clarified.
