There are about fifty articles that link to Lights. A few of them refer to the musician, but the vast majority should go to the disambiguation page. . . . . Jim . . . . Jameslwoodward (talkcontribs) 11:59, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that it should redirect to Light (disambiguation). AnemoneProjectors (talk) 12:22, 21 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I have done what the Lights fans might have done -- piped all of the links that come here that should go to the musician. Therefore, except perhaps for a User Page or two (which I didn't change), there are no articles that link here that should be redirected to the musician and 35 articles on various other subjects that should be redirected to Light (disambiguation). You can always verify this by clicking on "What links here" in the middle of the left hand toolbar.
As a general rule, links in articles should never go to a redirect page, always to the target article. Piping is the way to do that while controlling what displays. . . . . Jim . . . . Jameslwoodward (talkcontribs) 15:53, 22 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, it is ok to use redirects in articles, as long as they redirect to the right place. See WP:NOTBROKEN. AnemoneProjectors (talk) 16:21, 22 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Right you are, as a general rule -- I oversimplified. I use USCG all the time, rather than piping United States Coast Guard, partly laziness, partly for the reasons at WP:NOTBROKEN. But if the word has many uses, then it's foolish to rely on the redirect -- better pipe it wherever you use it, for exactly the reason we see here.. . . . Jim . . . .
