@Citobun: I think we need to be extremely careful, especially in the context of linking this from the main page, not to appear to place the subject's opinions in Wikipedia's voice, even on a quick skim read. If someone read this as Wikipedia making a homophobic statement, I think it would be a grammatical misunderstanding on their part. I checked the original source (SCMP) to see if it could be worded differently but it uses the same phrasing. I can see your point but I am also not sure how to reword it without losing the meaning.
