Opening Credit Version Anywhere?[edit]

Have never seen the soundtrack, but apparently it is a re-recorded version by the song's writer, Carly Simon. While you can find the choral version actually used in the opening credits of the movie by actually playing the movie, it is incomplete as it gets interrupted by the first scene on the ferry (the cupcake birthday thing) - is this theatrical release version available anywhere as a complete track? Might be interesting to add where to the article if it is. BTW, it is really sad to watch the opening credits of this movie today as it features some very pretty aerial views of lower manhattan with the now gone WTC in early morning mist. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.243.164.201 (talk) 22:03, 23 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Original research[edit]

The whole section concerning multiple award winning songs may be a fact. However, without a verifiable source, it smacks of original research. Can anyone find a citable source for this information ?

Song used in USPS television commercial[edit]

Not looking to introduce political note to this article, however the article does mention the use of the song in the 2001 United States Postal Service commercial in the wake of the 9/11 and Anthrax attacks... Does anyone have a reliable source which tells of/explains/notes criticism of the excision of "New Jerusalem" from the song? NorthCoastReader (talk) 03:29, 19 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Contemporary jungle beat[edit]

Is that the term Simon herself used? The Wiki articles on jungle music (oldschool jungle and ragga jungle) mention that that jungle music and the term "jungle" originated around 1990, or about two years after "Let The River Run" was recorded.

Perhaps the term new jack swing was meant? That would be more likely, as the new jack swing genre originated in NYC (fitting the subject matter) and was indeed contemporary in 1988. FiredanceThroughTheNight (talk) 07:35, 24 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I think she meant "a contemporary update of stereotypical African tribal music". I don't think it was meant to be a reference to drum'n'bass. -Ashley Pomeroy (talk) 19:24, 15 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
