citing and POV[edit]

Positive as well as negative material must be cited. For example both

"Leonid Kravchuk's political creed is avoiding conflicts and straightforward declaration of his position. He is widely considered to be cunning, diplomatic, and cautious. He describes himself as a man who refuses to take an umbrella because he hopes to "slip between the raindrops."

Yet he did say exactly so. Ukrained2012 (talk) 23:46, 13 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Such diplomacy helped Kravchuk to retain and strengthen his power over Ukraine during the transition from Soviet rule to independence. He was third in command in Ukraine's CPSU leadership before the fall of Soviet Union even though he didn't belong to the ruling Dnipropetrovsk group. He avoided inflexible positions towards democratic changes and was a compromise figure for both party conservatives and reformists."

are unacceptable. Who considers his creed to be avoiding conflicts? Ideal would be a quote from him saying so. "Widely considered" is an example of weasel words. Sources must be given--an authoritative commentator that says that he is so considered for each of the points. Where did he describe himself as a man who .... ? (It would be useful to have this both in Ukrainian and English, as the exact wording may be significant). and so on for the entire section marked. DGG (talk) 04:44, 22 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

removing POV tag with no active discussion per Template:POV[edit]

I've removed an old neutrality tag from this page that appears to have no active discussion per the instructions at Template:POV:

This template is not meant to be a permanent resident on any article. Remove this template whenever:
  1. There is consensus on the talkpage or the NPOV Noticeboard that the issue has been resolved
  2. It is not clear what the neutrality issue is, and no satisfactory explanation has been given
  3. In the absence of any discussion, or if the discussion has become dormant.

Since there's no evidence of ongoing discussion, I'm removing the tag for now. If discussion is continuing and I've failed to see it, however, please feel free to restore the template and continue to address the issues. Thanks to everybody working on this one! -- Khazar2 (talk) 14:56, 26 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
