HIV status[edit]

Some questionable changes[edit]

I'm reverting several edits by Ishe chinyoka (these ones). Although they seem to be good-faith edits, there are many problems with them that make them unsalvageable as they are written. These are the problems with the changes:

They contain a lot of original research, such as Dembo's inspirations ("Dembo seemed to have been interested in songs of love")
They removed sourced information (band member names, AIDS status)
They contained the "real name" of Dembo as "Kwangwari Gwaindepi", source: his tombstone (how can that be verified?)
They said his alias was "Musoro We Nyoka" - no evidence of truth to that
They removed and broke valid sources
They changed dates that were quoted from sources
They broke the formatting of the article

Some of the information may be true and verifiable, such as his association with "The Outsiders", but in the same paragraph, his association with "Five Notes" is mentioned, which appears false. – jaksmata 16:16, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Changes i appreciate your changes to the contribution by Ishe Chinyoka. However, i think it was not cool for you to make those changes, why??? well, there are some things that are common knowledge in Zimbabwe. We people from Zimbabwe, we know this, but nobody has ever written anything about it, hence there is no way to quote it. i.e: Ask anybody from Zimbabwe, they know that Dembo was known thoughtout the country as Musoro wenyoka. that is redundant common knowledge in Zimbabwe.

that said, i will go ahead and try to salgave the article making relevant corrections, formatting it etc. I feel that it is CRIMINAL to delete anything from Wikipedia. It is always good to modify/add/contribute. If you can't edit the page, ask other like us from Zimbabwe who issues about this article. (i created this page). Here in Zimbabwe, information is difficult to get, so i feel that when somebody has added something, it should be protected (edit to meet the standards) rather than delete.

Death date[edit]

The sources currently given in this article are inconsistent about the year that Leonard Dembo died. One says 1996, the other 1997. Google turns up several reliable-looking sources for each date. If anyone knows of a truly reliable source please add it to the article. – jaksmata 20:11, 16 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
