Article needs a tidy-up![edit]

I came across this article this morning and it is a bit of a mess. It would be nice if someone would come and have a look at tidying this up and, more specifically, if someone could start making the information in the article verifiable because at present all that is here is a combination of supposition and insider knowledge. As a resident of nearby Sheriff Hill, I am personally aware that much of what is here is true (there is Oliver Henderson Park, a demolished swimming pool etc in Leam Lane), but the standard for Wikipedia is verifiability, not 'truth' (see Wikipedia:V. A good place to start is the Gateshead council website: they produce lots of ward factsheets and council reports which detail the contents of the villages which make up the Metropolitan Borough of Gateshead and are useful, reliable sources. Perhaps this might provide a useful start?

The structure and style could also be improved- see how to write about settlements for more info on this. The article should have a lead (see WP:Lead) and numerous other sections marked by headings and appropriate subheadings, including information on population (use the 2001 UK Census to obtain the data), governance (Gateshead Council's website provides details of wards and candidates, councillors, election results etc), history and so on. At the moment there is no structure at all.

As someone who is actively trying to improve the coverage of Gateshead on Wiki, I'm glad that Leam Lane has a page and that there are people out there willing to contribute to it. These comments are simply intended to prevent any pernicious editor from deleting this article before it has really started...Meetthefeebles (talk) 10:13, 12 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sutherlands reversion[edit]

I have reverted an edit made by an unknown editor which added Sutherlands to the list of venues in Leam Lane. This is factually inaccurate; Sutherlands Hotel is at Stone Street, Windy Nook as evidenced by the venue's own website. Meetthefeebles (talk) 19:21, 4 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
