I have combined and/or removed much of the material about the Whyte and UIC systems of wheel and axle notation, since a lot of it was repeated and the detailed accounts are, in any case, better dealt with in the respective articles (which are linked to from here). -- Picapica 11:53, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]


It would be easier to understand, if the (helpful) foto would be mirrored. Then the formula and the picture have the weels in the same order. I know this might be too little of a detail to really matter, but one has to strive for perfection (or not).
