What on earth? Have the Best Actor/Actress/Supporting Role in a Musical categories been forgotten? Annie D 00:56, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Best Actress 2006, I believe, was Eve Best for Hedda Gabler. I saw it. She was a powerhouse. So subtle. Absolutely believable. Well deserved award. I do hope Wikipedia will correct this omission from their Olivier Award list! cbrians

The article is also missing the BEST COSTUME DESIGN category. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wk 85 (talkcontribs) 16:46, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Could someone add previous nominations, possibly in individual pages? I started, but realised I haven't got the time to do it all... you can use this source: [1] Adaircairell (talk) 17:56, 10 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Page organisation[edit]

I think this page could be organised better; perhaps with the 2008 and future complete lists of nominations and winners on separate pages. Snowman (talk) 17:37, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Tony Awards[edit]

I propose that as the British equivalent of the Tony Award, this article should be reformatted in a similar style tot he one for the Tonys, with each award category having its own article containing a list of winners. This way, Olivier Awards can be added into award succession tables, as are Tonys, Oscars, Grammys etc, because I think an award of the Olivier's prestige should be as well. I agree[edit]

I agree... would be a vg idea. I, sadly, don't really have the time; I've added some unmentioned categories (Supp roles in musicals) and separated current and previous awards, but it would be a good idea to have a similar style to the tonies. Adaircairell (talk) 11:59, 28 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No problem[edit]

I will happily sort this out given time. I have a contact at Society of London Theatre who is trying to get me a complete list of nominees and winners of Olivier awards, so I just need to find details of how I can reference to that... when I get it. Another suggestion I would like to add is to add a list of who has won the most Oliviers. Crazy-dancing (talk) 12:04, 28 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Still not right[edit]

There are still things missing... e.g. Best Light Entertainment, that sort of thing... will add bits, but everyone see if we can make this a star quality article! (kudos to Crazy-dancing for doing so much already) Adaircairell (talk) 11:06, 20 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposal[edit]

It is proposed that each of the above and related awards be renamed to use the more formal complete name by prepending "Laurence" to the titles. Each articles has been templated with instructions to contribute to the discussion here. --emerson7 22:16, 24 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

By year[edit]

I've thought this was needed for a while, so I added a "Ceremony" category to the template, like with the Academy Awards, Tony Awards etc etc. I've added all the pages, and added the 2010 (not very neatly, but they're there). I'm going away though, so maybe someone could continue my work? Laurence Olivier AwardLaurence Olivier Awards – A number of move attempts have been made in the past (e.g. 15 March 2009, 14 August 2010) but I think the title of this article should be plural, cf. Academy Awards, British Academy Film Awards, etc. The awards are individually named, each using a proper noun, therefore the normal rule for using a singular noun in the article title does not apply. See WP:PLURAL#Exceptions, 2nd bullet applies here: "Articles on groups of distinct entities that are nevertheless often considered together..." Rodney Baggins (talk) 14:07, 14 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Four wins by Philip Quast?[edit]

Most sources only list three. If that turns out to be incorrect then please recheck the entire milestones section. 143.44.196.79 (talk) 22:17, 9 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
