Pictures of Lake Street Dive[edit]

@Andrerodriguex I like the idea of a "Gather Round'" format picture. Maybe you would please consider a picture where all the band member's faces can be seen? It might also be an okay idea to have an old picture of the band with McDuck a bit further down the page. Please consider. Thanks

Redirect removed[edit]

This page should not be a redirect to Rachael Price's page. The business reasons for the merge in 2007 no longer exists. The band has a You Tube video with over 1 million views as of Jan 2014. --Rcollman (talk) 23:47, 14 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Needed more headings[edit]

This morning I updated some stats, to give a sense of the growth of the band via their number of performances. I decided that the band's history could be divided into before and after signing with Signature Sounds. I can not find the exact date for that but it is probably in the Summer of 2010, certainly by the release of "Lake Street Dive" on November 9, 2010. There are other places to define a benchmark for a heading. The YouTube video "I Want You Back" recorded in May 2012 but which went viral that Fall, while they were recording "Bad Self Portraits" might be another spot.

There maybe other more traditional wikipedia page styles/headings for groups like my favorite band. Even now I am not happy about the way this page flows. I think by May of 2015 it will be easier to see the direction of Lake Street Dive. Navajo Scouts are easier to write about :) Just sayingRcollman (talk) 16:46, 8 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for all your efforts. Please do remember to use citations. All four members could not sign in 2010 as Price was still under contract with someone else. I think the self-titled album was distribution only. Taking this into account, the resolution in relation to the legal wrangling is probably the best starting point where all 4 have signed. Akie Bermiss - member of band?[edit]

Bermiss plays the keyboard and sings background vocals with the band on tour and is on their new Free Yourself Up album. I do not know the contractual agreement between the original members and Bermiss. I listed him in the info block as a member.

Nonesuch says "For this album, the quartet drafted touring keyboardist Akie Bermiss to join them in the studio as well as on stage. Adding another player to the process freed up the the band members to explore a wider range of instrumental textures, construct more full-bodied arrangements, and build on their well-known background harmonies." [1]

The Free Yourself Up CD has a picture of Olson, Kearney, Price and Calabrese on the outside cover. On the inside cover there is a picture of Bermiss, Calabrese, Kearney, Price, Olson (holding a cat). Olson, Kearney, Calabrese and Price hold the rights to the songs and signed the promo poster for this album. The CD liner notes say "Thank you to all of our families friends and loved ones, Akie Bermiss, Dan Knobler... and Steven Colbert."

I think Bermiss has been on the stage with the "Quartet" for over 100 performances. But is he a member of the band or how should he be listed? Thx Rcollman (talk) 13:55, 12 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Short answer - Yes[edit]

Rachael Price introduced Bermiss as the newest member of the band when I saw them in Portland ME 29 Dec 2018. Rcollman (talk) 23:28, 9 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
