I think this article shoold be moved to a disambiguation page because the town in Ontario has a larger population and is but more important than this town in Scotland.Tim Mckee (talk) 19:02, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 3 July 2019[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: moved. Feel free to move this article to Kincardine, Fife if that is a better name. Also, please examine Special:WhatLinksHere/Kincardine and disambiguate article space links to Kincardine where possible. I've changed the more obvious links to Kincardine-on-Forth, but there were many ambiguous links that I could not quickly determine. – Not WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. I think it's little known outside Scotland, and therefore liable to attract erroneous good-faith inlinks that ought to point to one of the many other Scottish places listed at Kincardine (disambiguation); I suggest that Kincardineshire and any of the Westminster constituencies with Kincardine in the name are better known in England. Kincardine, Ontario has three times the population of Kincardine-on-Forth. The article says Kincardine-on-Forth was "at one time a reasonably prosperous minor port" — hardly a ringing endorsement of its prominence. jnestorius(talk) 16:03, 3 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support per views which indeed show no PT. However its not clear how often the town is called "Kincardine-on-Forth" so Kincardine, Fife might be better if WP:NATURAL isn't satisfied but I can at least find several sources that do indeed call it "Kincardine-on-Forth".
