Error in Kenny Washington's political affiliation[edit]

The wikipedia page states that Kenny Washington was a lifelong Republican. This is false. Source: Interview with Kenny Washington's daughter, Karin. She stated both her mom and dad voted for Kennedy when Nixon ran against him. When Kenny Washington was younger he was a member of Independents for Nixon but that was early in Nixon's career. Washington supported some Republican candidates from time to time but never declared a political party affiliation and Karin said this was intentional. He did tend to vote Democratic 1960 and later.

The interview I did with Karin was for my book "Lost Champions: Four Men, Two Teams and the Breaking of Pro Football's Color Line". I cite these details in the end notes. [1]

The Kenny Washington page is semi-protected so I'll come back and edit the page itself with proper referencing once I've made enough edits elsewhere to meet the requirements to edit a semi-protected page.

Washington’s final game[edit]

Where NFL.com writer Adam Rank got the idea that 80,000 people saw Kenny Washington’s final game as a pro is mystifying. Attendance that day (Dec. 12, 1948) was 27,967 according to the next day’s LA Times. 2600:8800:982:FA00:D0E6:EF3A:21B:9F4E (talk) 04:59, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
