Controversy[edit]

In the commentary on the DVD release of That Peter Kay Thing, other cast members' hysterical reaction to Peter Kay's brief description of the background of, and his choice of name for, the Keith Lard character ("it were just a name I liked" is greeted an outburst of with knowing sniggers and the comment, "nicely glossed-over, there") is strongly suggestive of a more complex relationship between the character and the real world than Channel 4's apology might have the viewer believe. A 2001 school newsletter article here: http://www.st-thomas-of-canterbury.bolton.sch.uk/newsletter/NLSafety.htm could be read as having the same nagging and excessively safety-conscious tone of the Lard character, but is the work of the Keith Laird who threatened Channel 4 with legal action. Clearly there is no suggestion here that Mr Laird is involved in bestiality. Ghughesarch 03:49, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I do believe there is a spelling mistake in the statement after the phoenix nights the slide mispells 'manchester' as 'mancheter' should this be reflected here? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.195.198.115 (talk) 01:40, 5 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
