Ashura is not a celebration, it's a day of mourning[edit]

Ashura was not the cause of the Shia/Sunni split, this has been repeated in the media since John Kerry incorrectly stated this on the floor of the US congress. The Shia/Sunni split arose shortly after The Prophet (SAW) passed away.[edit]
