Middle name[edit]

ok there's NO way his middle name is actually Muscle

I think it's best to put his alleged middle name in quotation marks until/if a definitive source can be found Sticky Wiky (talk) 16:25, 10 January 2022 (UTC)Sticky Wiky[reply]

Source for date of birth?[edit]

What source supports the exact date of birth? I can find an age as of a date, but not the date of birth. —C.Fred (talk) 04:12, 16 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

His DOB matches the California Birth Index records:
https://californiabirthindex.org/birth/chuck_kirkendall_born_1975_12623844
There is the only one Chuck Kirkendall that shows up and the DOB matches as well as the location Alameda County. Sticky Wiky (talk) 23:31, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Editing your own wikipedia page[edit]

There seems to be a concerted effort by Kali Muscle and alt accounts to remove contributions to the article about his former career as an adult model. Previously from the account Realkalimuscle and recently Johnelwaq. Needless to say this is against the rules and reverting edits should only be done with a clear reason. This is a WP:BLP and any contentious content needs to be reliably sourced, and that claim is not sourced. Please provide one before including it again. Apparition11 Complaints/Mistakes 11:04, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
His model profile is still up on adult modelling sites eg. http://www.manifestmen.com/model/Kali%20Muscle along with others eg powermen.com. Would those be acceptable to use as sources? Sticky Wiky (talk) 13:17, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Not really. We need reliable third-party sources describing him as such or at least covering his career as one. In the same vein, after looking at the article, the lead states that he is an author; however, it is also not sourced and the article doesn't mention it. For the same reason as adult model shouldn't be mentioned, author shouldn't either. A link to his book wouldn't be enough to justify it. We would need reliable, third-party sources. I will remove that. Apparition11 Complaints/Mistakes 14:48, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for being obtuse but to make a comparison if eg. an article was written on a sportsman playing for a club and the source of that was the club's website where he had a player profile etc. would that not be a reliable third-party source as I have added to a lot of sports profiles with information taken from their clubs' websites. Sticky Wiky (talk) 23:36, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Not obtuse at all, using primary sources is tricky. Generally yes, WP:PRIMARY sources can be used, but should be used with care. For a sportsman to have an article, there should already be multiple third-party sources describing them as such. There should be no doubt that they are a sportsman, and the primary source is just there to verify incontrovertible facts. If they were disputed, we would go with third-party sources. If the only source describing them as such is primary, then they are not notable as a sportsman. If they are notable for other reasons, but no third-party sources discuss them being a sportsman, then it is WP:UNDUE for us to discuss it. This is a WP:BLP so care must be taken with any controversial claims, both positive and negative, about the subject. Apparition11 Complaints/Mistakes 00:07, 23 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
