Living god?[edit]

"Many people regard him as a living god." Who exactly? This seems a bit over the top, and not very encyclopedic. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.191.7.221 (talkcontribs) 2006-10-29 15:36:30

Well many people who listen to Metal regard him as the one of these who "created" the genre(notably, Rob Halford). Also many metal listeners(mostly Power Metal) seem to worship him. ;] . So the right sentence would be "He is considered a Living God by his and power metal fans". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.57.185.135 (talkcontribs) 2007-07-25 20:17:18

I find that there is just way too much unsubstantiated legend of who Kai Hansen is on his wikipedia page. Yes, he is a well-established performer, but the fact remains that this is supposed to be a source-verified web page. Example: Referring to him as the Great Eagle of Power Metal. Never having heard about this nickname in all my life, I googled this to only return results from one person actually referring to him as such, seemingly in an attempt to spam this nickname into existence. (To the credit of the person, it was with best intentions to brighten Kai and not defame.) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.119.219.139 (talk) 18:32, 29 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Singing Style[edit]

Okay, I've been promoting a Singing Style section as a part of articles which deal with Heavy Metal frontmen and for some reason people don't like these. Why? With every guitarist, drummer, bass player, keyboardist etc. there is usually a mention of their influences and style. A singer is no different. His instrument is his voice. If someone feels this info doesn't warrant a section of its own, fine, but don't remove the info but instead move it to a place where it is more at home. If I'm looking for info on singers, naturally I wanna know what their style of performance is. -TheHande 20:33, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Could someone add the range of his singing voice? I don't know how to classify it, I only know it's very high. -TheHande (talk) 13:39, 19 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I like these little article sections as well. The problem that arises in this one is the comparision to death metal singers. I think it's incorrect and pretty unrepresentative of Kai Hansen's vocal style. The way it is said, it feels like I'm reading a vague description of King Diamond or better yet, Absu's singer.

High pitched is Kai's main focus, wether clean or raspy. While he does occasionally border on growling, these are what should be considered "interludes". Examples include the spoken break in Victim Of Fate as well as the chorus to Gorgar. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.56.119.37 (talk) 10:56, 25 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"During his earlier years Hansen's singing style was reminiscent of many death metal vocalists." Really? I've heard the "Death Metal" joint album, which is to my knowledge their earliest recording and he doesn't really have a death metal style at all, maybe a thrash style though. I like having a singing style section, but this needs work and sources or else it'll get deleted. Ximmerman (talk) 00:05, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Rampage?[edit]

What exactly are the sources for his singing with Rampage? He is not credited anywhere, and the only connection I can find is a circuitous one where Roland Grapow, his Helloween replacement, was in that band. Sherick (talk) 21:42, 7 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
