"Count of Revillagigedo"[edit]

What exactly was he count of? Revillagigedo Islands seem to have been named after his son (?) Juan Vicente de Güemes Padilla Horcasitas y Aguayo, 2nd Count of Revillagigedo, and Revillagigedo Island is also named after him. Revilla Gigedo leads nowhere useful. I found this on google, which I can't interpretate since I know no Spanish, but it seems to have something to do with the city/region Gijón. Can anyone shed any light over this mystery?
