Criteria for inclusion[edit]

According to the criteria listed under the WP:DIPLOMAT, a diplomat merits a WP article only and only if he or she has participated (in a significant way) "in events of particular diplomatic importance" and "that have been written about in reliable secondary sources". With all due respect, but His Excellence Joseph Mussomeli meets neither of the criteria stated above. The sources cited do not include any secondary sources reporting about any events of particular diplomatic significance.

The article therefore should not be written on Wikipedia in the first place since it is based on the primary sources (here) only; an announcement on an educational institution's website about his talk on this very institution is a primary source, too. And that's not everything, the contents of the sections on his personal life and hobbies are without any sources at all - no wonder, since he is no celebrity that media would show interest in reporting about the hobbies, life, etc. Contents of the aforementioned sections are therefore either an WP:Original research at best, or WP:Self-promotion (See "Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a vanity press, or forum for advertising or self-promotion."), at worst, and should be removed immediately.

Paradoxically, the negative publicity he received recently and an attempt here was made by anonymous user (with IP 75.182.28.149) from Columbia (in South Carolina U.S.A.) to delete it from the article, happens to be the only content cited by a secondary source, proper. --DancingPhilosopher my talk 12:19, 22 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I've deprodded it. Although I haven't looked for the sources yet, the diplomat received quite a lot of publicity in the last time. Therefore, it would be best to take it to the AFD if you deem it necessary. --Eleassar my talk 14:45, 23 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Ambassador Mussomeli is the single most well known and most publicized ambassador of any foreign country in Slovenia in the country's history. There were fundreds of events covered about him by the media. Surely deserves a Wikipedia article. 92.37.109.44 (talk) 10:52, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
