Public domain/Commons[edit]

  • Wouldn't it be pertinent to mention all of this man's work are now in the Public Domain?
  • I think it would be better to upload everything to Wikipedia Commons and link to there instead of having a gallery. As nifty as the Gallery function is, it tends to break the flow of the article. Circeus 14:38, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • The talk page is the place for mentioning the Public Domain issue, not the article, and you've now done that, thanks ... :-)
  • Uploading more images to Commons would be great, something I might get around to, with a {{commons}} link when done or underway. I think a small gallery of 4 quality photographs at the end of the article is appropriate for a photographer of this significance. It comes after the body of the article in the "summary" area and doesn't interrupt the flow of the article at all in my view. --Cactus.man 15:03, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I have moved all the photos here to the Commons category. Richard001 (talk) 00:15, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Publications on John Thomson[edit]

We (MichaelWGray and myself AaronNGray) are looking at how to go about adding information on publications about John Thomson to the main page and are seeking advice on how to go about this. We will initally add the content here

Notes about createing a new section for publications on Thomson — Preceding unsigned comment added by AaronNGray (talkcontribs) 09:27, 12 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@AaronNGray: Hi. After "Selected works", create a new section at the same level as the others titled "Publications on Thomson" using ==. Use this syntax:
  • Book title. Location of publisher: trimmed name of publisher, year of publication. By author or editor. ISBN-13, example: ISBN 9782867540301.
