Untitled[edit]

What does the author mean by this sentence?

His resignation from teaching was forced by the controversy over his novel The Dark, which was banned in Ireland for the pornographic description.

Just re-written the above to try and make it clearer. 82.12.240.134 00:42, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Birthplac[edit]

There seems to be confusion about where John McGahern was born. The English wikipedia entry states Knockanroe, Country Leirim while the German and the French entry have Dublin as does the New York Times obituary from March 31, 2006 plus the one in the Independent. The Telegraph obituary from the same day has `County Roscommmon´ as his birthplace. Can this issue be clarified? 2003:45:4414:9BF8:5090:67C3:D3F9:BDFB (talk) 08:04, 6 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
