Change to layout[edit]

The purpose of a discography page is to provide a quick lookup of the albums released by an artist. I think that the recent edits have made this page unclear and confusing to the casual user who just needs quick access to this kind of information at a glance. I would like to revert this page to the last set of changes done by User:Shirimasen but in order to prevent a potential edit war I would be interested in hearing what anyone thinks about this.

John Lennon template[edit]

Is there need for a John Lennon template (you know, one that can be placed below articles about John Lennon songs/albums, directing to his biography, albums et cetera, similar to Template:The_Beatles? Or should the beatles template be used instead? (Or is this something for the beatles project?) Pie.er 13:56, 26 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've added a bootleg section. Please expand it, but limit to significant bootlegs, and if there is an extensive series, just add the name of the series so we don't crowd the article up too much.

LIVE PEACE IN TORONTO 1969[edit]

Hi,

LIVE PEACE IN TORONTO 1969 has been awarded gold record in the US under the artist name "Plastic Ono Band" and not "John Lennon" but I can't easily introduce the reference in the article because I haven't found how to copy the complete URL address which begins by "http://www.riaa.com/goldandplatinumdata.php?table=SEARCH_RESULTS".

Cite error[edit]

"Cite error: tag is missing the closing" on the line of Live Peace in Toronto 1969

I'll look at it myself when I have the time, but if YOU would like to fix it, please do go ahead. I'm not sure if it is this error that causes everything below there to be listed in the Live albums section, or if that's a different issue.

Orphaned references in John Lennon discography[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of John Lennon discography's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
