Dual code international[edit]

He's classified as a DCI yet no international rugby league appearances are mentioned in the article. Did he play for the Kiwis in RL ? -Sticks66 12:46, 2 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As far as I can tell [1] No, he never did Mattlore (talk) 12:49, 2 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Did not tour south africa[edit]

According to this wikipedia article John Kirwan was selected for the rebel rugby tour of South Africa in 1986 but declined to go. Was this on principle? If so it would be an extremely notable chapter in his life considering how significant the protests against the springboks were in NZ history and also considering 28 of the 30 players selected for the rebel tour went to South Africa. This clearly needs to be addressed by the article. 121.73.7.84 (talk) 12:21, 12 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This article (about David Kirk) appears to indicate that Kirwan did refuse to tour South Africa on principle. In that case the Kirwan article needs to address this important ommission. 121.73.7.84 (talk) 12:24, 12 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The All Blacks website states "Because of his father's ill health he declined to tour South Africa with the Cavaliers in 1986. Instead he became one of the fabled Baby Blacks in their sensational win over France at Lancaster Park." Mattlore (talk) 23:26, 12 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
