Separate list of international centuries for Root?[edit]

Is it now worth creating a separate page of a list for Root's international centuries? He now has 20 international centuries overall and now that he also has been given the Test captaincy for England, it would allow for more detail on his centuries and which centuries were pre-captaincy and during captaincy. He's also the only one of the current "Fab Four" all-format (and in particular Test) batsmen (Smith, Kohli, Williamson and himself)[1] to not have one. article length[edit]

Do we seriously need sub sections on every single International series he's played in? The article is already long and by the time his career is over this will be the longest sport article in WP. LibStar (talk) 06:43, 19 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Seconded in spades. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.97.116.103 (talk) 18:55, 22 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I'm working on cutting out a load of the routine coverage of unremarkable performances, though I'm sure it could be condensed further still. It is all very matter of fact "he did this" style, with no critical appraisal (good or bad) to put it in any sort of context.Spike 'em (talk) 13:15, 17 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Date of Birth / nickname etc[edit]

Could whoever keeps editing this please stop, or alternatively provide a source that proves it is correct (and not just your birthday) Spike 'em (talk) 15:40, 31 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Sisters[edit]

I was about to revert the change but looked into it first. Turns out it was me who introduced his sisters in this edit. I don't remember adding them, even less where I got the information from and none of the refs I added support their existence. A brief search shows that it is most likely a crude joke based on the Australian meaning of "root", which when combined with those particular names leads to much hilarity. Sorry! I figure it was something like that, that there was a joke somewhere. Galobtter (pingó mió) 15:36, 24 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Root now has a test match 5 wicket haul and best figures of 5/8 in tests.

The stats bar should be updated to reflect this (it already has been for first class matches). 77.100.133.150 (talk) 02:24, 26 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It not unsourced it's is a record mention on English records of cricket Anshul Srivastava.21 (talk) 08:04, 13 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It looks unsourced to me, and such a random feat is not worthy of mention in the lead. Spike 'em (talk) 08:52, 13 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You continue to add junk stats to the lead. This section is meant to summarise the important information from the rest of the article, not be an overly-specific stats dump Spike 'em (talk) 18:27, 13 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
