Gascoine vs. Gascoigne[edit]

There was an article on this actress both here and at Jill Gascoigne. I have merged them together under this one as this seems to be the more prevalent name for her. It's not clear to me if Gascoigne is her original name or not. Gascoigne seems to be used too many times[1] for it to be simply a misspelling. I choose to combine to Gascoine as that is what IMDB, Amazon, and others had her listed under. -- JLaTondre 22:37, 8 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Jill was born Jill Viola Gascoine, that is the name she was born with on the 11th April 1937. Gail I Crawford (talk) 21:18, 12 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Jill Gascoine[edit]

I wish Jill Gascoine a very happy 83rd belated birthday, unfortunately Jill probably won't even know that yesterday was her birthday due to the fact that very sadly Jill has Alzheimer's disease and in the very late stages of the horrible and cruel disease. So sad to my mind Jill was a brilliant versatile actress, singer, dancer, and of course author. I am a long term fan of Jill's and have collected as much as I can. Also I am in the process of writing The Jill Gascoine Story, doing research at the moment and finding it truly fascinating, and always looking for more information for my research which I will write in the book, it's a slow process but it will be well worth it. Jill Gascoine.[edit]

So very sad that Jill Gascoine has lost her battle with Alzheimer's disease a very crule and devastating disease. Jill has been a great inspiration to me. I will still carry on with doing my book onThe Jill Gascoine Story, but my research is getting harder as people I have contacted are not coming back to me at the moment this could be because of this horrible virus, so at the moment things are on hold. I will get there in the end. At least Jill is no longer suffering from Alzheimer's and to quote from Jill's book Lilian sleep the sleep of the truly weary, Jill peacefully slipped away. At least I have a large collection of dvd's of Jill's work and can watch her, and hear her singing and watch her dancing, for me I want to celebrate Jill's life, she was a brilliant actress, singer, dancer, and author I also have all 3 of Jill's books. Jill will always be in my heart as I'm sure she is in so many peoples. My sincere condolences to all Jill's Family and friends. God bless you Jill, Rest in peace.
