Dubious claims[edit]

There are a lot of dodgy claims on this article. For instance, "But rejected by the party, saddled with debts and, unable to find a seat, he went to the cabinet took out a gun and shot himself." Victor Montagu, the peer in question, lived till 88.

A propos of what?[edit]

Trumpington did not tolerate homosexual men at parties, but she was already interested in Republican politics.

Her Cryptographic Days[edit]

She merely transcribed German phrases for further processing, but did not decode them. The Cambridge Rapist / MacFisheries[edit]

I have just removed the following from the article: "She gained public notoriety for personally tackling^{[dubious – discuss]} the 'Cambridge Rapist' in her own home, for whom the police had been searching for years without success; a burglar turned out to be the wanted felon masquerading as a door-to-door salesman calling himself MacFisheries.^{[citation needed]}" No one has come forward with sources and, according to the Daily Mail, based on Trumpington's memoirs, the Cambridge Rapist just delivered orders of fish and veg to her. She was apparently the magistrate to whom he was produced after his arrest and, as she knew him, she recused. @Roger Davies: You are correct. I have her memoirs and the Daily Mail's summary is actually accurate on this issue. (Page 179) Him being her delivery man is a bit trivial but since she was sitting magistrate, the association could be included back in without the tackling aspect. --Meanderingbartender (talk) 11:47, 17 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
