Fair use rationale for Image:Jasonrobinson.jpg[edit]

Image:Jasonrobinson.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 09:32, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ningnangnong - I ama huge fan of rugby, (particularly English), and am able to verify the statement about the Guinness Premiership and the super league (JR being the first to win both). If you need proof look in the book European Rugby - Best players of the modern game, by Malcom Saxon —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ningnangnong (talkcontribs) 13:56, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The section on his rugby league career is far too brief. He's one of the best british rugby league players of all time. This article makes it look like a side-show in his career. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.155.248.240 (talk) 22:15, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That old "often regarded " weasel[edit]

"he is often regarded as the best one-on-one attacker the game has ever seen" .... it's a big call and a bit too weasley for my liking, especially for it to appear in the leading paragraph. Any citations to back this up. ? -Sticks66 12:40, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Pages moves[edit]

If this page move is agreed (there has been a bit of reverting) "(rugby)" should be in the title rather than "(athlete)", this is the usual naming format for dual code rugby players. LunarLander // talk // 18:14, 20 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It appears this has moved, and without any recent conversation.Fleets (talk) 18:32, 7 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that was me, I didn't think it would be all that controversial at this point in time. It didn't hit me until now that I might have just caused a huge mess. Sro23 (talk) 18:41, 7 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I think there's a hell of alot of wikilinks in place for the rugby player. I imagine, still being prominent in the minds of supporters of both codes that he would be the preeminent Jason Robinson, and thus does not justify a disambiguated page.
The incoming wikilinks I can easily fix. What worries me is whether or not this person was actually the primary topic. Sro23 (talk) 19:07, 7 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I wouldn't have even put the others in the same league tbh, but unless Jazz is going mainstream, then he will struggle to play his way into making a disambiguation page necessary.Fleets (talk) 19:13, 7 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Even were it to stay, it is in the wrong place as Jason Robinson (rugby) would be the correct naming convention for dual-code players.Fleets (talk) 20:17, 7 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I'll be completely honest. I know next to nothing about rugby. I'm also pretty clueless when it comes to determining primary topics; it's like a guessing game to me. I'm very sorry, I don't know what I was thinking. I won't take chances like this again. If you think I made the wrong decision, I'm sure the folks at WP:RM would be able to sort things out. Sro23 (talk) 23:01, 7 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Well it was an honest mistake, and I wouldn't necessarily say it was an open and shut case on the disambiguation as rugby of both codes, although world games are both largely played in Commonwealth countries, and a musician may find a way to transcend nations, colours and creeds to find popularity with more than the followers of the oval ball games.Fleets (talk) 16:50, 8 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
