Untitled[edit]

I do not think the UNITA HQ was the town in Huile province described here. Kwando kubango province is in the south-west. Also, at the famous battle of Cuito Cuanavale in 1988 the communists attacked south east from Cuito Cuanavale towards Mavinga, which blocked their route to Jamba. It would not make sense if Jamba was in fact a few hundred miles to the north-west. Cymro61

Fixed. Socrates2008 (Talk) 03:38, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Does it still exist?[edit]

I looked at the co-ordinates given here on Google Earth and saw only a few faint roadlike tracks - no buildings, airstrip, etc. It looks as if it has literally "been wiped off the map" or else the co-ordinates given here are wrong. Roger (talk) 16:19, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Saw the corrected co-ordinates, the airfield is clearly visible. Thanks Socrates Roger (talk) 17:12, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Article is unbalanced[edit]

The role of the US(CIA)'s involvement with UNITA is overstated relative to that of South Africa. This article makes it seem as if SA was merely a "bit player" compared to the Americans. In fact the reverse is more accurate. Roger (talk) 17:36, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
