Kabupatens[edit]

Does the metropolitan area include the entire kabupatens of Bogor, Bekasi and Tangerang? My understanding is only parts of the three kabupatens are included. Polaron 14:48, 22 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I am not 100% sure, but I think it does. This web page [1] gives a definition of the JABOTABEK and an administrative boundaries map, and it looks to include the entire kabupatens. The web page is not very up to date (in the 90's?), but they give an area of 6,418.49 km2 and predict 26 million people by the year 2005 which looks relatively consistent with the table I made. This other web site [2] says that JABOTABEK covers about 10,000 km2 and will reach 24 million inhabitants by 2005. It is not very accurate about the area, but until now, I did not find yet any information telling that the JABOTABEK includes only parts of the three kabupatens. Does someone have more details about the boundaries? LeQuantum 15:52, 24 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The Jabodetabek/Jabotabek terminology has fallen a bit out usage lately. However, Greater Jakarta was defined as "Jakarta, Bogor municipality, Bogor regency, Bekasi municipality, Bekasi regency, Depok municipality, Tangerang municipality and Tangerang regency" in 2003. The new catchprase is "Megapolitan" Jakarta. You should be able to find more information by studying that. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.129.226.231 (talkcontribs)
This is correct. The formal definition includes the entire three kabupatens (regencies) of Bogor, Bekasi and Tangerang - as well as Jakarta Special District and five cities (Bekasi, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and South Tangerang). At one time a small part of Cianjur Regency - but only a small part, amounting to five kecamatans (districts), and certainly not the entire regency - was added, but this was later dropped. Jakarta agglomeration after it ceased to be the capital city[edit]

aims to synchronize the development of DKJ with the surrounding area. Article 51 paragraph 2 further explains that the agglomeration area covers at least the areas of the Regional Province of Jakarta, Bogor Regency, Tangerang Regency, Bekasi Regency, Cianjur Regency, Bogor City, Depok City, Tangerang City, South Tangerang City and Bekasi City.

Provisions regarding agglomeration areas are contained in CHAPTER IX Articles 51 to Article 60. Synchronization of development is carried out through synchronization of spatial planning documents and planning documents for ministries or institutions, provincial development and districts/cities that are included in the scope of agglomeration areas.source hereBaqotun0023 (talk) 12:42, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
