I am contesting the deletion of the "Jack Grout" Wikipedia page because Jack Grout is not only a notable and significant individual but also a historical one. Jack Grout was one of the first American professional golfers on the PGA Tour, and he was the sole mentor and teacher of golfing legend Jack Nicklaus. Jack Nicklaus has written/spoken extensively about Jack Grout in magazines, newspapers and television programs. Jack Grout had an integral role in the history of golf in the United States, which can be substantiated by the numerous citations included on his Wikipedia page. Furthermore, the Golf WikiProject group has adopted this page and maintain it, along with the other notable golfer pages on Wikipedia. In addition, to further prove that Jack Grout was both notable and significant, he was included as one of Wikipedia's "Did you know?" facts on April 8, 2009. You seem to be reacting to an old speedy notice from March 27 on your talk page. Jack Grout is a notable figure, his name and role are recognized by knowledgeable golf fans, and the current article is in no danger of being deleted. Wasted Time R (talk) 03:54, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
