J. J. WilliamsJ. J. Williams (rugby) – no clear WP:PRIMARYTOPIC Joeykai (talk) 00:31, 25 July 2020 (UTC)Relisting. © Tbhotch (en-3). 05:00, 4 August 2020 (UTC)Relisting. —usernamekiran (talk) 19:33, 11 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose Is the primary topic for me. But if the page is moved it should be moved to J. J. Williams (rugby union) as there's two different codes of rugby. Rugbyfan22 (talk) 09:53, 25 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak support: There seems to be several topics known as "J. J. Williams", and "primary topic for me" doesn't sound like a very strong reason to consider something primary, especially for an article about a rugby player discussed by an editor with a username that starts with "Rugbyfan". I see no need to use "(rugby union)" instead of just "(rugby)" unless that's a well established convention on Wikipedia, since there seems to be no need to disambiguate between different types of rugby in this title. —BarrelProof (talk) 15:12, 25 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Almost all rugby player related articles I have come across have been disambiguated to (rugby union) if they have played rugby union and (rugby league) if they have played rugby league. I've only seen (rugby) used when the player has played both codes (which J. J. Williams hasn't), therefore the disambiguation is necessary. In terms of my view on it being the primary topic, having looked at other J. J. Williams (the 'soccer' player and the banker) he's more notable that the soccer playing due to his international status (and played for the British and Irish Lions) and the 'soccer' player having only played 8 professional games (he will have more page views due to him playing currently, whereas the rugby player finished his career 40 years ago). No objection to "(rugby union)" per above. Aside from a spike for the rugby player in August 2019 and a smaller spike for the soccer player in March 2020, the rugby union player and the soccer player have roughly equal page views since early 2019 when the soccer player's article was created. The rugby player does seem to have greater long-term notability. The article about the Virginia segregationalist gets very few page views. —BarrelProof (talk) 17:46, 25 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
