work on this page[edit]

This page is very badly written and organized, with potted "summaries" in quotation marks and all kinds of strange categorizations that have no basis. Like "the younger generation," for instance. Since when does an alte kaker like Yitzhak Laor belong in that category? I see the article has been rated top priority. Surely someone can do better than this!--Gilabrand 13:26, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Ben-yehuda.jpg[edit]

Image:Ben-yehuda.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Not good[edit]

I agree - this is not a good article. For example, to say that Israeli literature is "generally referred to as Hebrew literature" does tend to leave out the fact that Hebrew literature goes back for thousands of years before the founding of the state of Israel. This article should be, and is, about the literature written by people from Israel - but then why no Yehuda Amichai, to name but one? Why no S.Y. Agnon, who spent most of his life in Palestine and Israel and who is still, I think, the only Israeli writer ever to get the Nobel Prize? Lexo (talk) 01:19, 22 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I remain optimistic for revisions from you and others. Perhaps you'll agree that the article is better than the lack of an article, which of course was once the case. After contributing to this article I learned a bit more about the subject by reading Modern Hebrew Fiction by Gershon Shaked. However my employment and family circumstances have not permitted me to improve the article further. --Hoziron (talk) 06:22, 14 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
