Please fix this article[edit]

Wikipedia is not an advertising medium for a company or product or service; clearly this article appears to be an advertisement. This is a huge disservice to everybody, including the writers of this article, since it risks turning an encyclopedia into one giant billboard. Wikipedia is great because we do not have to slog through advertisements to get to good information, generally, and this is true for the writers of PowerShares too. Please see WP:ARTSPAM. Next, almost all of the "sources" listed are bogus; please see reliable sources. Please trim this article, or write it in a neutral fashion, soon, otherwise it will either be proposed for deletion or trimmed substantially. Topic is actually pretty notable. That was why I started the page. These are big time financial instruments now and the page will survive an Afd I think. Anyway, I added a couple of refs and mentioned commodities, oil, etc. but I think that is enough. It was necessary to say that these are vehicles that allow investment in commodities without going through the usual commodities markets, but any more will begin to read like a product handout. Hi, I had a few questions in regards to the editing of this article. Being familiar with the company, I feel some more key details could be added. Would it be possible to discuss these with whoever is currently editing? I was wondering if this page could be worked on to eventually look like State Street Corporation ? first of all, is there any way to change the name of the page to Invesco PowerShares? That is the official title of the company. Also additional facts about products....currently there is a pretty narrow product overview. Any chance a logo picture can be added in the info box? currently a college student. Grew up in Wheaton, IL where PowerShares is obviously prevalent. I think walking a new user through changes is a better way to teach than to lecture or throw massive amounts of guidelines and policies at them. If that's how they chose to learn, the welcome template I left on their talk page will work great.

174.253.3.63, do you have any references that can be used to populate the infobox? If we can find an article or two about the founding of the company, size of the company, and products it provides, that would be a great start. I use search strings of major sources. Problem is, "PowerShares" comes up quite a bit in articles not about the company, but how its funds are doing. And quite a few press releases too. So, one way to approach it is to use "PowerShares is" (in quotes) or "PowerShares has" or "PowerShares (some other verb here)" or maybe "PowerShares spokesperson" or some other combination, as a way to avoid the non-references. Combine it with a string like this one: "PowerShares has" (site:wsj.com OR site:nytimes.com OR site:boston.com OR site:miamiherald.com OR site:post-gazette.com OR site:chicagotribune.com OR site:suntimes.com OR site:latimes.com OR site:sfexaminer.com OR site:oregonian.com OR site:usatoday.com OR site:time.com OR site:washingtonpost.com OR site:nysun.com OR site:cbsnews.com OR site:npr.org OR site:guardian.co.uk OR site:nj.com OR site:thestar.com OR site:usnews.com OR site:slate.com OR site:newsweek.com OR site:cnn.com OR site:thenation.com OR site:newyorker.com). Unclear relation between terms Invesco, PowerShares and QQQ in lead[edit]

The lead is somewhat confusing. It starts by defining its topic as Invesco PowerShares, a company. Then it says it is part (a subsidiary?) of Invesco, and mentions "PowerShares product", without explaining what is it. The rest of the lead then proceeds to discuss "PowerShares". It seems that most of the lead is therefore not discussing the "Invesco PowerShares" but some poorly defined product/service of the company. I will also note that Powershares currently redirects here from QQQ (disambiguation), where it is defined as "Powershares (stock ticker symbol), a NASDAQ-100 exchange traded fund". QQQ fund is again confusingly discussed in lead, and mentioned in the body only under "Selected funds" as part of a list. Overall, I find this article confusing and I am tagging it as such.
