Sanctions against Iranian scientists has been deleted. Will its contents be merged into this article?[edit]

This article has been deleted, so I am now unable to access its revision history or view its contents. Will we be permitted to undelete this article so that it can be merged into Sanctions against Iran? Jarble (talk) 00:09, 9 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Citation re U.S. sanctions[edit]

The section "Reasons for Sanctions" quotes a U.S. State Department web page. However, neither the current page nor the Obama Administration's legacy page contain the quoted statement. I believe the quote is accurate, but no longer valid. Maybe if someone can find an archived version that contains this quote it can be retained as a historical purpose of sanctions, but in any case it is no longer current. Proposed merge with United States sanctions against Iran[edit]

  • Oppose - I'm shocked there aren't any other votes on this yet. Anyway, I lean towards Wiki-Separatism so take this with a grain of salt, but I think both articles have more than enough content to be separate. It would be more convenient for a reader looking for the specific US sanctions against Iran to go to that article, just as it would be more convenient for a reader looking for sanctions against Iran from any other country to come to this article. Iran is exporting medicines to Iraq, Syria and Venezuela[edit]

Some groups such as Freedom Movement of Iran[1] or CNN contributors[2] claim the sanctions are the reason of medicine shortage in Iran however the statistics of Customs of Islamic republic for the year 2013-2014 (before JCPOA) showing almost 1.5 million ton medicines of a single group(tariff) "Dietary supplements for human" is imported only from USA by direct contract[3] and during the other years the importation from USA has been continued.[4] Also Sadeq Larijani, in opposing to INSTEX, approved the food and medicines were not prohibited,[5] however official reports of Iran are showing medicine shortage even for simple Iranian productions.[6][7] BBC Persian relates the problem to the financial transfer limitations but it doesn't have consonancy with the customs statistics.[8] And now official news says Iran is exporting medicines to Venezuela.[9]

Bank of Kunlun[edit]

New York Times [1]: This is what China National Petroleum Corp. did in 2009 when it bought a small bank in China’s northwestern province of Xinjiang and renamed it Bank of Kunlun. The bank helped Iran conduct hundreds of millions of dollars worth of transactions. Are China National Petroleum Corp and Bank of Kunlun mentioned in this article?
