For some years the school, now known as IGS (International German School) was recognised by the German government as the German school and received financial and administrational support. Since the owner of this school changed the position and direction of this school in 2011/12, it lost the backing of german officials. There was no german school any more.

As a political decision a new German school should be founded in Ho Chi Minh City. The SBH (Stiftung Bildung und Handwerk) was found to be the carrier. The new school started operating august 2012.

The new principal and his wife stayed only some months, but left the country. Heide Schaffer served as assistant principal until the end of the school year. Few informations were provided on the schools homepage:

From Oktober 2013 to June 2015 the new principal Peter Schäfer wrote a newsletter, sometimes several in a month:

Since July 2015 Dirk Thormann is the new principal. Since then there has been only one newsletter in January 2017, called "Die Schule". The homepage got only very little updates since then and shows a "under construction" since September 2016. More recent information are available on facebook:

In 2016/17 there were 8 full time teachers, but 5 of them left. They were accompanied by 6 part time teachers (substitutes) and 4 of them left. So roughly 2 thirds of the teachers left summer 2017.

In the time since summer 2015 there have been 3 administrative managers (Mr. Hong, Mr. Hoo and Mr. Fiedler). All left. As of 2017/18 the school is still looking for a new administrative manager. 114.124.150.124 (talk) 11:54, 17 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The administrative manager from the founding of the school 2013 until summer 2016 was Nguyen Viet Hong. His contract was terminated in April 2016. He reported the case to the labor department in District 2. The court ruled that the IGS has to pay a compensation of 2,000,000,000 VND $(87,000). Edit war[edit]

The school is struggling with several problems within the administration of the school (ESL Erweiterte SchulLeitung - extended school administration). Instead of solving the problems or changing the conduct they try to silence every information about it.

Both in the german and the english Wikipedia the principal Dirk Tormann as well as the IT administrator Long tried to erase controversial information from Wikipedia, even though it was backed by official documents from the schools homepage and official Vietnamese law.
