1981 roller speed skating[edit]

Most, if not all, of the 1981 roller speed skating events were held at the parking lot of the Great America amusement park in Santa Clara. If I recall correctly from very brief local television coverage, the course was not oval, and the events there consisted of multiple laps.Jeff in CA (talk) 22:27, 1 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Road roller skating NOT a demonstration sport in 2013[edit]

At the Cali World Games 2013 web site that is referenced elsewhere (http://worldgames2013.sportresult.com/NH/en/300), there are only four sports listed as invitational sports. Road Roller Skating is not one of them. In order for the 2013 final medal total in the official sports (176, 169, 169, 514) to be correct as shown for all countries at http://worldgames2013.sportresult.com/NH/en/300/Medal/HistoricalMedals?medalKind=DefaultSports , the 24 medals from the eight road roller skating events must be included. Quad speed skating[edit]

From Inline speed skating#Quad speed skating:

"Quad roller-skating racing is the precursor to the popularity and acclaim received by competitive racing on in-line skates. Up until 1991 all World Championships were held on quad skates. Most events at the 1992 World Championships were specific to quads, however, some events were classed as "open" giving the athlete the option of choosing either quads or in-lines. The same criteria were applied for the 1993 World Championships. In 1994 all events were declared as "open". Despite this, it had soon become evident that in-lines were predominantly quicker than quads on all surfaces and all tracks and to this end athletes opted for in-lines over quads, as is still the case today."

I noticed that some of the World Games results listed in this article from before 1997 are included in tables that have "in line" in the name of the events. Jeff in CA (talk) 18:02, 2 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
