Xbox leak

I don't know if it would be too much publication of piracy however it is related news that the xbox 360 version leaked on April 4th to torrent sites. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.226.159.200 (talk) 04:23, 7 April 2013 (UTC)

Interviews and information

Hello Wikipedians, it's been a while since i've been actively editing but with Injustice coming around I thought i'd come help contribute to finding references and development information from interviews. Since this is the talk page, I thought i'd store all the information here for the time being.

To begin we have an interview from Jeff Gerstmann of Giant Bomb: http://e3.gamespot.com/live-show-2/live-show-day-1/ At around 58:00 he talks about the game mentioning information like the Netherrealm Studios and DC collaboration, and the fighting system of the game.

Here's an interview with Adam Urbano calling the Injustice engine as heavily modified Mortal Kombat (2011 video game) engine. And claims of added depth for pro-players in comparison to Mortal Kombat 2011.

http://www.g4tv.com/videos/59050/official-e3-preview-of-injustice-gods-among-us/

Similar interview with Adam Urbano but here he confirms that it is 60 frames per second just like Mortal Kombat 9. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iPRNQGngces

I'll be editing in more information as I come across it but hopefully we can get this article well and informative by the time the game comes out. Sincerely Subzerosmokerain (talk) 01:00, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

Second DC Game by NRS

Should this be reworded or no? Technically, the same development team created Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe, but at the time they were still under the Midway banner. 216.165.95.72 (talk) 21:45, 13 July 2012 (UTC)

I've removed the sentence entirely; as you pointed out, it was Midway that developed the game, not NR, which didn't exist (technically). EVula // talk // // 14:37, 10 August 2012 (UTC)

Doomsday Source

Is the source that confirms Doomsday as a playable character a credible one - [1]?
LoveWaffle (talk) 03:30, 10 March 2013 (UTC)

Teen Titans

The page here mentions they've gotten Scott Menville, Greg Cipes, Khary Payton, and Tara Strong for interviews, and while I can find several of Tara Strong with Wayne Brady, I've been unable to find the others. SalaComMander (talk) 03:29, 19 March 2013 (UTC)

Scott, Greg, and Khary were briefly featured in the "Injustice Battle Arena Weekly Match-Up: Quarter Finals Part 2" video. WANI (talk) 03:34, 19 March 2013 (UTC)

Ah, thank you. SalaComMander (talk) 03:37, 19 March 2013 (UTC)

Battle Arena Celebrities

Is it really necessary to list every celebrity that's participated in the Injustice Battle Arena promotional event?
LoveWaffle (talk) 21:19, 25 March 2013 (UTC)

That's what I was thinking a while ago...and the answer is 'probably not'. We could possibly either list off a few of the more notable guests, or simply leave them off entirely. WANI (talk) 21:35, 25 March 2013 (UTC)

iOS release date

Hey, I'm a wee bit rushed for time here, but I couldn't find an actual reliable source for the game being released on the 3rd; everything I found was dated for the 4th. That's kind of annoying, because I know it was on the 3rd (I tweeted the link for the game to a friend on the 3rd), but I don't have time to find a better source. Just throwing this out there, should the date ever come into question (or if someone can find a better source). EVula // talk // // 23:38, 5 April 2013 (UTC)

Voice Cast

The Credits of game were recenttly leaked and according to the Video Gameplay, here's who who.

Would Someone Source these?T-Nuggett (talk) 03:40, 17 April 2013 (UTC)

The voices are accurate, but they don't have any names tied to them; you're just guessing. Who's to say David Sobolov doesn't play Shazam, or Nolan North playing Nightwing? Hell, a lot of these don't even sound like the voices you've tied to them. You'll need a better source; perhaps contact the actors themselves via facebook/twitter/e-mail to verify? -- 69.14.66.237 (talk) 04:05, 17 April 2013 (UTC)

The Correct Name is Captain Marvel

The article and a discussion below refer to Captain Marvel as "Shazam." The hero's name is "Captain Marvel" and not "Shazam." Shazam was the wizard who granted Captain Marvel his powers and whose name Billy Batson calls in order to turn into Captain Marvel. Does the game incorrectly identify the character, or are the Wikipedia authors incorrectly identifying him? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.165.240.116 (talk) 20:22, 19 April 2013 (UTC)

Captain Marvel was renamed Shazam with The New 52 relaunch. Even if people still use "Captain Marvel", the game identifies him as "Shazam", so that is the name we must use in the article. WANI (talk) 20:40, 19 April 2013 (UTC)
Correct; the character was renamed in the comics. Even if he wasn't, he's called Shazam in the game, and that's what we would honor; if he was called Captain Kangaroo, we'd call him that (but link to the correct article). EVula // talk // // 20:47, 19 April 2013 (UTC)

Comic - should it have its own article?

Hi the Comic that details the lead up to this has been incredibly popular, regularly topping the charts on Amazon and Comixology: http://www.comixology.com/comics-best-sellers [http://www.amazon.com/Best-Sellers-Kindle-Store-Comics-Graphic-Novels/zgbs/digital-text/156104011/ref=zg_bs_nav_kstore_2_154606011 Amazon best sellers: comics and graphic novels]. I think it should either get it's own article or an expanded entry in this page. Master z0b (talk) 06:34, 22 April 2013 (UTC)

The Flash

The Earth-2 skin is Jay Garrick and the other skins are Barry Allen. It is like how the Nightwing skins are. Mattseay3000 (talk) 23:14, 17 July 2013 (UTC)

DLC leak news?

Prior to the DLC season pass characters being released, some news pieces had came up reporting on a possible DLC link that now, looking back was proven true. Is it worth mentioning in some capacity in this article? Valid sources provided of course. Stabby Joe (talk) 00:05, 3 August 2013 (UTC)

Injustice sequel

Um, according to IMDB, theres an Injustice sequel called 'Injustice 2' that will arrive in 2020. I don't know if this should be added to the page. You can check it out here 137.147.75.202 (talk) 14:22, 1 January 2014 (UTC)

I'd say that's just ridiculous. Nobody plans a game taking six years to make. --uKER (talk) 18:17, 1 January 2014 (UTC)

Article improvements/changes

I have made several edits to the article in preparation for a good article nomination. The last time I worked on this page (couple of years ago, I think...), I managed to get it roughly up to B-Class article standards before the game faded from my interest. Since that's pretty darn close to GA status, I thought I'd come back and get it up there. Many changes were minor, but I did delete some significant parts, namely those involving character skins. Personally, I think they're non-notable, and listing them off is fancruft. I also removed a huge paragraph from the downloadable content section about skins, since it was largely unreferenced and, again, they just don't seem that important.

I am almost ready to submit the nomination. However, the one section that I am most worried about is the plot section. It's long, and poorly written and unclear in some parts (which is kind of expected; writing a summary about a story taking place in two separate realities/timelines is difficult). Any help with rewriting the story to be more concise/clearer for the reader is greatly appreciated! Wani (talk) 02:26, 13 May 2015 (UTC)

Comment

Infobox and Lead

  • Cover art caption should be succinct. So I suggest you to remove the name of all the playable characters.
  • You don't need to mention Warner Bros. Home Entertainment as the distributor as the game was published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. Only use this field when they are handled by different companies.
  • You should arrange the platforms in their alphabetical order.
  • You can use a plainlist for the platform field, similar to Halo 4.
  • the characters are restricted to fighting within a two-dimensional space. - to fight, not fighting. It should be a bare infinitive after "to"
  • The game's story is set primarily within an alternate universe - Primarily, it means that some part of the game aren't set within it? And it is set in an alternate universe of what?
  • You should further expand the lead by adding more information about the reception of the game (Which aspects of the game were praised. How many copies it sold?)
    • Should I be more specific about the number of games sold? Wani (talk) 17:47, 16 May 2015 (UTC)
      • No, it is not notable enough to be mentioned in the lead. AdrianGamer (talk) 04:59, 17 May 2015 (UTC)

Content

  • Can you get a better screenshot than File:Injustice screenshot.png. What the image shows is different from what the caption said, as least from the image I can't see how the game is played on a two-dimensional plane
  • Movement is restricted to a two-dimensional plane; however, the characters and backgrounds are rendered in a three-dimensional fashion - Need a source to support this statement
    • I am having a lot of trouble finding a source. The only thing I can remotely find (that is a reliable source) is a review from Gamesradar briefly mentioning that the game is 2.5D. What should I do? Delete the statement? Wani (talk) 17:52, 17 May 2015 (UTC)
      • You should use the source. As long as there is a source to support the statement is fine. AdrianGamer (talk) 15:28, 18 May 2015 (UTC)
  • The stages, based on locations such as the Batcave, Metropolis, and Fortress of Solitude, feature interactive environments and multiple areas. - What is the common points of these locations.
  • If a heavy attack is connected near a corner of the arena - Connect doesn't sound like the best word to use here.
  • Each section also contains objects that the characters can interact with differently depending on their class - Remove "the"
  • players will charge their characters' "super meters" through various actions - What is "super meter"? Any explanation on what it actually is?
    • Hmmm...I'm not sure what else to add here. The super meter is just a gauge that can be used to perform enhanced special attacks, counters, etc.; stuff that's already explained in the following sentence. Wani (talk) 20:54, 18 May 2015 (UTC)
  • During battle, players will charge their characters' "super meters" through various actions, such as performing moves, blocking oncoming attacks, or getting hit by the opponent - Change the sentence to something like "During battles, the players' character's "super meter" changes when the players is performing moves, blocking oncoming attacks, or getting hit by the opponent.
    • I tried wording the sentence a little bit differently. Wani (talk) 20:54, 18 May 2015 (UTC)
  • Players may also expend meter to interrupt a combo - Add "their" before "meter"
  • The campaign of Injustice: Gods Among Us was written by NetherRealm Studios in collaboration with DC Comics' writers as a stand-alone story - "as a stand-alone story" is not necessary
  • The plot section is too long. It violates WP:VGSCOPE#5
    • Do not put a template there, even though it is only temporarily. AdrianGamer (talk) 15:28, 18 May 2015 (UTC)
      • Removed. Wani (talk) 20:02, 18 May 2015 (UTC)
  • Several other characters from the DC Universe also appear as non-player characters, making cameo appearances - Any examples?
  • which had to be modified to suit fighting games. - Should not be written in passive voice
  • The comic section should be separated from the promotion section. Name the section "Related media" and put it in the bottom of the page.
  • Don't use brackets in the retail edition subsection
  • Multiplayer functionality was added to the iOS and Android versions in later updates - When the "later updates" was released?
  • That is a really good release section. I am impressed
  • the Xbox 360 version 82% and 81/100,[88][93] the PlayStation 3 version 81% and 78/100 - "and" should be added
  • The reception section is fine. However, the reception section should show whether the different aspects of the game is well-received or not instead of the reviewer's general impression on the game. Something like "The combat of the game is well-received. Game Informer called it "amazing" while IGN thought that it is not as good as Mortal Kombat". However, it is not compulsory. You may consider to rewrite the section if you plan on bring this to FA.
  • Remove CVG, EGM, GameTrailers and Joystiq from the review table. Template:video game reviews should support the text, not to mirror Metacritic.
    • EGM was used in the text, so I didn't delete it. Wani (talk) 19:33, 17 May 2015 (UTC)
  • The awards the game received should be written in prose as well.
    • Couple of questions about this. I noticed that there wasn't a source for the IGN Best Fighting Game award, so I went to go look for one. The only thing I was able to find was this link. Since it's labeled as a wiki, I know I'm not supposed to use it according to policy. However, it doesn't look like anyone can actually edit the page. So, I'm wondering whether I can use it...since I can't find any other sources. Also, should awards have their own subsection? Since it's only two sentences, I just integrated it into the first paragraph. Wani (talk) 03:43, 19 May 2015 (UTC)
I have checked one of our featured content List of accolades received by Grand Theft Auto V and our proposed list candidate List of accolades received by The Last of Us, and that both of them used the wiki source, so it should be fine. It won five awards, and I assume that it was also nominated for some awards as well. So I think that it should have its own subsection. AdrianGamer (talk) 09:09, 19 May 2015 (UTC)
You need to italicize Game Informer in the awards section as well.AdrianGamer (talk) 12:37, 20 May 2015 (UTC)
  • Remove the sequel section. A wikipedia article should not contain rumors.

Sources

  • I am not sure whether sources from Shoryuken, @Gamer, RipTen, The Realm of Mortal Kombat, Stevivor, TrendyGamers, SuperHeroHype, DLCentral
    • When it comes to coverage about fighting games, I think Shoryuken can count as a reliable source. The others, I agree, not so much. Will try to find replacements. Wani (talk) 19:20, 17 May 2015 (UTC)
      • I have removed/replaced all the sources, except for TRMK. I wasn't able to find a suitable replacement for that. Wani (talk) 15:50, 20 May 2015 (UTC)
        • You should remove it if you cannot find any replacement. AdrianGamer (talk) 15:55, 20 May 2015 (UTC)
          • Removed. Wani (talk) 16:39, 20 May 2015 (UTC)
  • Wrong citation format for source 25, 31. You are citing a website, not an event.
  • Sources from DC Comic, Injustice twitter and PlayStation Blog are primary sources. Consider replacing them if secondary sources are available. It is not compulsory since it is only a good article nomination instead of a featured article candidate.
  • Fill in the work and author fields for source 67, and the work field for 108 and 109.
  • Source 12 was used twice in the same sentence
  • Remove the sources from the release field of the infobox, as they are already used in the release section.
  • You also need a source for the character list.
  • Few dead links as well.
