This article is written in American English, which has its own spelling conventions (color, defense, traveled) and some terms that are used in it may be different or absent from other varieties of English. According to the relevant style guide, this should not be changed without broad consensus.

Ductile iron, grey iron[edit]

I'm not an expert (or even an amateur) on this subject, but the line "it is also available in the specifcation of Ductile Iron, Grey Iron" in See also doesn't sound wiki-like. I'm changing these to bullet points; if someone understands this reference, perhaps they can rework this in a more accessible fashion. DoctorElmo 06:51, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

German translation[edit]

de:Ingot links to boule (crystal), not here. I think this may be a mistranslation, carried over from the image the two articles share, or maybe there's ambiguity in the translation. Could someone who knows some technical German help with this?--Joel 00:04, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Better late than never: According to that page, Der Ingot is a single or polycrystalline ingot of semiconductor material. Boule seems to specifically refer to a single crystal ingot. I think there are annoying nuances in the translation of Ingot. (Why can't they use "Barren"?). I say it is OK as is. User A1 (talk) 14:02, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Brass and bronze ingot making[edit]

This unfinished article is proposed for a merge into this article as part of a section relating to ingot making. It has previously been proposed to merge with other articles: see Talk:List_of_copper_alloys#Proposed_merge_from_Brass_and_bronze_ingot_making , as a result some of the info in the article has already been removed (specifically info on red brass) FengRail (talk) 15:48, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Just so I understand you correctly, you don't support the merge because the article isn't referenced? Doing a google search it doesn't seem to be a copyvio. It was however a cut and paste job in a speedy delete, which is what really has me concerned -- and a reference as to where the text came from would allow me to quell my concerns. Proposed merge from plano-convex ingot[edit]
