Possible reorganization?[edit]

I think there needs to be a distinction between potential/theoretical applications, ones that are being researched/in development, and ones that have made it to market. Also, each section really needs a link to a journal article, or at least news story as a reference. Antony-22 02:59, 18 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

These nanotechnology articles need a major overhaul, but there haven't been any Wikipedians to initiate this yet. So, if you like, make the changes you see fit! --HappyCamper 03:29, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

comment: This article is called "applications", not "letting one's imagination run wild". This whole page needs a serious reality check —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.188.135.128 (talkcontribs) 21 December 2007

agreed. some parts seem to be written almost as if someone is trying to sell nanotechnology and its potential applications. i.e. the use of positive future predicting terms like "inevitable" instead of something like "probable" or "potential" seems to be a theme here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AnieHall (talkcontribs) 02:30, 8 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Non-digital "nanologic"[edit]

I removed a paragraph that begins with an incorrect statement, "Nanoscale devices exhibit dominant nonlinearities that prevent their use as two-state devices in digital computers", and then builds on this to describe ideas that make little sense, seem to be new, and are supported by no references. Eric Drexler (talk) 05:02, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Construction section[edit]

The newly-added section on construction seems to be a fairly close summary of this document here [1]. I'm not sure if that constitutes a copyvio, since it doesn't look like a cut-and-paste or even a sentence-for-sentence paraphrase, but it probably could use some editing down. Antony–22 (talk/contribs) 04:15, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright[edit]

The deletions of Feb 2 seem to be copy-paste of https://pantherfile.uwm.edu/sobolev/www/ACI/2-Balaguru-ACI-F.pdf

Are there other infringements here?

Removing a Signature[edit]

I removed the following: "By Naufal Rizwan II civil Mepco Schlenk Engineering College"

I'm not sure why it was there.... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.74.91.234 (talk) 16:55, 31 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Improving this set of articles[edit]

My comments from November 2006 above on cleaning up this series of articles was my twelfth edit to Wikipedia, but it's only now that I've gotten an idea of how to proceed. I think that this article should be split into subarticles on each of the categories of applications, and this article should be reconstructed an a top-down overview of the state of applied nanotechnology. Then, the panoply of marginal, orphan stub articles that populate Category:Nanotechnology can be linked or merged into the subarticles so that they'll be more likely to be improved. Needs sources[edit]

The list of potential uses down the bottom desperately requires sources. The sections on agriculture and cosmetics don't even possess links, let alone unbiased source material. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.107.253.216 (talk) 10:10, 18 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I totally agree. Do you know of any good sources that can be used here? Feel free to edit the article if you think you can improve it! Antony–22 (talkcontribs) 04:26, 21 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Big article split[edit]

Okay, I have finally gotten around to this. I've renamed this article from its old title, List of nanotechnology applications, to Industrial applications of nanotechnology. I've moved text that overlaps with another article into that article, so some text has been moved to Nanomaterials, Nanomedicine, Nanofiltration, Energy applications of nanotechnology, Nanoelectronics, and Nanolithography. I will create a new article, Applications of nanotechnology, to serve as the overarching summary page. Antony–22 (talkcontribs) 07:00, 25 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Cyberbot II has detected links on Industrial applications of nanotechnology which have been added to the blacklist, either globally or locally. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed or are highly inappropriate for Wikipedia. The addition will be logged at one of these locations: local or global If you believe the specific link should be exempt from the blacklist, you may request that it is white-listed. Alternatively, you may request that the link is removed from or altered on the blacklist locally or globally.
