Is this list for topics in Catholicism? If so, can I begin adding Anglican and Orthodox topics to it? Fishhead64 15:18, 18 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why does this article exist?[edit]

It seems to me that this is the function of categories such as Category:Roman Catholic Church. I am planning to nominate this article for deletion but I figured I'd ask here first to see if anyone could offer a persuasive reason why we need this article in addition to the category system. --Richard (talk) 15:17, 19 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Seems to me that it makes little sense to have articles which are simply lists of related articles that duplicate the information provided by a category. A list of Popes or a list of Papal Bulls makes sense but a list of Catholic Church articles suggests a list that would be too long to be useful (after all, why would we not add in all the articles about dioceses and archdioceses plus all the articles about the saints?). --Richard (talk) 15:23, 19 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The category tree is all by organized by subject. This page is an all alphabetical list of one large topic. They serve as different means to find the same articles, like the table of contents and the index of a book.
I don't know what the standard would be for who can have one, but here are other examples of pages of this type on Wikipedia... "Indexes"
A great thing about pages such as these (given proper maintenance) is that their associated "related changes" page can be bookmarked allowing for easy article monitoring. Pollinosisss (talk) 19:12, 8 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

List with columns instead of horizontal?[edit]

Greetings, wondering if it would be easier to read this article list if it's displayed in columns? Below is an example from just the A section.
