Original title[edit]

List of symphonic poems is saying this work's actual title is "Musical picture". That's only half the story, it seems to me. Grove V calls it Musical picture 'In Central Asia', which I believe is what its original Russian title translates as. I'm sure New Grove would have more info about its exact Russian title, if anyone has access to it.

Somewhere along the line it acquired a more fanciful title for English speakers, with the addition of "the steppes of", and the new title probably qualifies as a nickname now, and could be listed at List of classical music sub-titles, nicknames and non-numeric titles. -- Jack of Oz [your turn] 08:00, 21 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Can we get recording of the individual themes?[edit]

This is a really great article; this is the sort of thing that makes me wish I had wikipedia as a kid. Thanks to everyone who put this together.

I like how the sheet music for the individual themes is displayed on the page. Is there any way we can link to either recordings or even "MIDI-recordings" of the individual themes? Ceresly (talk) 13:47, 27 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
