Editing by unregistered user[edit]

An unregistered user has been repeatedly changing the lead paragraph in this article, to say that Ibrahim was the 22nd Sultan, that he was a Malaysian sultan, and that modern Johor has two capital letters. Their last edit included an attempt to prove those facts by linking to a WP page. I have searched other WP articles which include the subject of Ibrahim's sultanate, and none contain a citation or citations to confirm the above facts. I have asked an administrator to deal with this, but I am still waiting for them to my request. Due to the political setup during his lifetime, Ibrahim was not a Malaysian ruler until the last few years of his sultanate when he could be said to have Malaysian nationality, and even then, he did not rule Malaysia, only Johor, so we know that we cannot simply state that he was a Malaysian ruler in the lead. Ibrahim of Johor[edit]

The numbering for the Sultan of Johor is wrong as it says 22nd even though it should say 20th because if you count the Sultans there are 23 Sultans not 25 82.13.174.232 (talk) 12:41, 19 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It does not matter whether you are right or wrong in this. What matters for Wikipedia is that you are able to prove what you write, with citations. A citation should give an authoritative source, which is secondary or tertiary, and peer-reviewed. That could be a published (not self-published) book, a respected newspaper, the website of a museum or government, etc. If you are serious about improving this article, the best thing that you can do is register as a user, and learn to write citations. @Danial Bass: I suggest that you ask an admin to protect the pages then. Those edits are not repeated in the main body of the texts, and they are not cited. In my opinion they need to be reverted unless you can find a citation for them. Storye book (talk) 16:19, 19 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
