Where was he from?[edit]

The article says he was born and died in Baghdad, but it also says “from Harran.” Which one is right? CielProfond (talk) 22:01, 5 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

NOT A STAR WORSHIPPER!!![edit]

As a person "of the book" as explained in the linked page, it is impossible for him to associate partners or deities with the stars. This is a horrible fabricated connection which would've made anyone from that group absolutely reject such descriptions in the strongest terms imaginable. Most scholars believe that the Sabians of Harran to which Ibrahim ibn Sinan belonged were not the Sabians mentioned in the Quran, but a different religious group which in the 8th century adopted the Quranic name 'Sabians' for themselves in order to be granted legal protection (dhimma) by Muslims as (supposed) People of the Book.
