Ruhmann[edit]

The cite by Ruhmann is relevant, but someone ought to qualify his uneducated statements. The song is not 'waltz time' but a 6/8 - actually a 4/4 with triplets. This is the danger when letting loose a music critic who doesn't have a clue about music.

Lyrics Error?[edit]

I have listened to the song a few times and looked up the lyrics on a bunch of different websites, and I believe most of these websites to be in error. The lines that read:

"They say our love won't pay the rent 

Before it's earned our money's often spent

I guess that's so, we don't have a ____
But at least I'm sure of all the things we got."

I have seen inserted in that blank the words pot, lot, and plot. Based on the context and close listening, I believe the correct lyric to be plot. Anyway, I thought the fact that it is misspelled so often worth mentioning in the article.

Every hour on KHJ (AM)?[edit]

At this forum site contributor Max says: "Sonny went to radio station KHJ and asked them to play "I Got You Babe" once every hour (in exchange for granting that station exclusive rights to that song). Because the response to "I Got You Babe" was so favorable, Atco was forced to give that song the A-side designation." Is there any better source for this claim? Cher with Beavis and Butthead Version[edit]

Under "Music video," it states, "the animated pair refer to her former husband Bono as a dork and a wuss, to which Cher agrees."

Technically, that's not quite accurate. Butthead calls Sonny Bono a wuss and Cher agrees with that. Beavis then follows with "He sucks." To which Cher replies, "Kinda, yeah." Cher never agreed that Sonny Bono was a dork. The dork accusation came from the beginning of the video, when Beavis and Butthead were selecting options for a "chick," and Butthead says, "We need a chick that used to be married to some dork, and so now like she's all wild and stuff." Since this happened at the beginning of the video before Cher appears, Cher was never even given the opportunity to agree with this assessment. (Although for the purposes of this video, she undoubtedly would.)

As a matter of fact, not even Beavis and Butthead called Sonny Bono a dork. They merely specified that they wanted a "chick that used to be married to some dork," and the VR computer produced Cher in response to their request.

The statement I quoted above would be more accurately rendered as "the animated pair refer to her former husband Bono as a wuss and that 'he sucks,' to which Cher agrees."
