Describe Ipredator[edit]

Why don't anyone describe the service?

It hasn't been released yet, so there isn't much to describe. --Explodicle (T/C) 14:24, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Has the development stopped[edit]

Has the development stopped, after The Pirate Bay staff got verdict'd as Guilty? Really there has been no updates, and there is no contact information what so ever on the site, and the date on the site is static and it says "it looks like we will release it around wednesday." 193.65.99.1 (talk) 06:38, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know. At a certain point I guess we should just assume it's vaporware and merge into The Pirate Bay article, but I'm not sure how much longer we should give them to generate news. --Explodicle (T/C) 13:37, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I got this email from them today:

(We're re-sending this e-mail to you. We thought you where a Swede and sent the e-mail in Swedish. But honestly, we don't know if you're a Swede or not. So you'll get the e-mail in English. We'll stop being sober soon so that these sober errors won't happen again).

Now it's finally time for (the beta testing of) IPREDATOR!

Besides being sorry for the previous e-mail which was in Swedish, we're also sorry for the delay. It's just to be safe rather than sorry, regarding the technical aspects. It's very safe now at least!

IPREDATOR does not store any personal details about its clients. IPREDATOR does not store any traffic habits you might have. IPREDATOR is the key to a free internet in the renaissance of censorship!

It looks like they're expecting payment via a service called Paynova. We'll see how it goes. 76.85.171.148 (talk) 18:40, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I also received an email today (2nd July 2009) offering me to subscribe:

The above link with random ID and c numbers returns a web page that says:

"You (xx.xx.xx.xx) do no belong here."

with your IP address where the X's are above.

I say wait until January 1st 2010 and then merge this with the pirate bay if the project does not get revived by then. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.251.90.98 (talk) 02:22, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The service works. I received an invitation e-mail, could register an account, pay for three months and log onto it. 84.136.199.179 (talk) 18:22, 31 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Paynova[edit]

Interesting.

As of 2009-05-19 Paynova has relocated offices.

Capitalization[edit]

I know why you wrote "IPREDator", but it's "Ipredator" on the company site:

https://www.ipredator.se/ "Ipredator skapar en krypterad tunnel och byter ditt publika IP-nummer mot ett anonymt. Klicka här för att anmäla dig!"

https://www.ipredator.se/?lang=en "Ipredator gives you an encrypted tunnel and changes your public IP-number to an anonymous. Click here to sign up!" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.182.146.116 (talk) 17:29, 10 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

False Advertising[edit]

It's supposed to be "€ 15 for 3 months!", but you cannot pay in euros. You have to pay 149sek (17 euros). http://img839.imageshack.us/i/ipredator.png/ 93.182.188.30 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 23:13, 22 February 2011 (UTC).[reply]

---
I've just paid (Aug 13, 2012): it's still SK149, but in euros it's 18.71 euros now.

READS like a commercial[edit]

This page reads like a commercial for their service. I think Wikipedia should remove this page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.219.114.147 (talk) 16:57, 9 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

When was it announced?[edit]

I see from this very talk page that there was a considerable length of time between when IPredator was announced and when it first went into private beta, does anyone have sources on when it was announced? Was this "probably vapourware" feeling generalised? codl (talk) 11:04, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
