Notability[edit]

Okay, there are some video games that have this Howie scream sound effect: Starcraft and Half-Life 2 (a faster version called the Fast Zombie Yell). I've just added two games under the Appearances section at the moment. Starkiller88 (talk) 12:56, 29 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Another one: Judge Dredd - The Pinball Game?[edit]

I'm not sure about that one, but I've been playing JD before StarCraft, and when I clicked the academy, I thought, "well, that sounds familiar" - Can anyone confirm if (1) that's another Howie, or just a sound-alike, and (2) JD:TPG is notable enough for the list?

Need Clear Reference of Origin[edit]

Is there any clear reference which reliably and definitively states the origin of this sound? This clip doesn't sound to me like it was created specifically as either a generic, or specialized scream. Rather, it sounds to me like it is a slowed down, partial clip of either some fight referee or baseball umpire screaming, "You're out!" 68.10.81.239 (talk) 01:24, 10 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

There is some merging to be done in this category, but it starts with deciding whether there is even sufficient sourcing in stock sound effects or whether even that gets merged up (production music?) Here are the only real sources I found outside of academic databases:
