"In June 1969 they were temporarily paroled under an amnesty for political prisoners, but in November of that year, the Federal Constitutional Court (Bundesverfassungsgericht) ordered that they return to custody."

I've never heard of an amnesty for political prisoners. Is there any source for this? They appealed against the verdict which led to the release as far as I remember.

See also the article about Gudrun Ensslin: "After being released pending an appeal in June 1969, Baader, Ensslin and Proll fled when the appeal was denied." —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.7.74.204 (talk) 22:38, 28 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
