Mia Love[edit]

User:Animalparty I have to say I disagree with the picture. The picture was not meant to show that Utah has not discriminated, but rather to show the progress that Utah has had, and to show a fantastic example of how African Americans have contributed and are contributing to Utah history. However, if you have a different picture that you think would better showcase the progress, please let us know, we would love to consider it. --Napplegate17 (talk) 16:13, 10 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I think it needs more context. Right now it reads as "here is a black person from Utah." No disrespect to Love, but why should she be the face of history African Americans in Utah for this article (the first image readers see when they click on the article), out of all possible people? I think a more historic figure would be more appropriate, one who more widely represents the History of African Americans in Utah, or if not, at least add some context to the captions. Was she the first black Utah politician? Is she the most famous African American in the history of Utah? I have no objection to Love or any modern figure being discussed or included in the body of the article, but context is essential. Cheers. --Animalparty! (talk) 22:40, 10 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
