Reform and Conservative Judaism in Israel[edit]

Aren't there some Reform and Conservative Jews in Israel? While the Conservative Jews might call themselves Masorti, quite a few Reform Jews might not consider themselves complete "hiloni" (secular or profane), but a religious movement in their own right. 192.12.88.7 (talk) 01:09, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It's very rare. The religious breakdown in Israel is nothing like it is in North America. I would say that nearly everybody in Israel who sticks to the denomination of reform or even conservative is a recent immigrant. There aren't even Hebrew words for them - only equivalents from English: "reformi" and "consevativi". And like you said, the closest thing to the North American conservative movement in Israel would be Masorti, which is still a very small group. Make sure you don't get confused between that and Masorati, meaning traditionalist. Breein1007 (talk) 03:16, 9 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hiloni vs. Chiloni[edit]

Perhaps the subject article should be changed throughout from hiloni(m) to chiloni(m), in accordance with Modern Hebrew pronunciation of the letter chet? If I am not mistaken, most Yisraelim (an overwhelming majority) pronounce the letter chet like the letter chaf (except for some Sefaradim and Arab Israelis whose pronunciation of chet (het) is closer to the letters alef, hei, and 'ayin). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.98.153.17 (talk) 06:14, 8 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Per WP:HEBREW the present spelling is correct. Wikipedia uses "h" for the het and "kh" for the khaf. Debresser (talk) 08:08, 8 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

removing POV tag with no active discussion per Template:POV[edit]

I've removed an old neutrality tag from this page that appears to have no active discussion per the instructions at Template:POV:

This template is not meant to be a permanent resident on any article. Remove this template whenever:
  1. There is consensus on the talkpage or the NPOV Noticeboard that the issue has been resolved
  2. It is not clear what the neutrality issue is, and no satisfactory explanation has been given
  3. In the absence of any discussion, or if the discussion has become dormant.

Since there's no evidence of ongoing discussion, I'm removing the tag for now. If discussion is continuing and I've failed to see it, however, please feel free to restore the template and continue to address the issues. Thanks to everybody working on this one! -- Khazar2 (talk) 23:32, 21 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Removing Picture, following discussion of this subject in Hebrew[edit]

The same picture illustrating this value in Hebrew was removed in agreement with a group of editors as it doesn't provide valuable information on the subject. I suggest to do the same to in English CarloOfek (talk) 12:23, 6 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I think the editor above implied that the photo illustrating this article should be removed. I don't care. AddMore-III (talk) 17:12, 6 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
