Origin[edit]

Does anyone know how they came up with the origin of the characters looks? Because i was watching Invader Zim lately and in the episode "Battle of the Planets" there was an kid who looks similar to Hermes limboing —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.31.187.142 (talkcontribs)

Well since Futurama started in 1999 and Invader Zim didn't start until 2001 I doubt that was the influence for Hermes, if that's what you're asking. Stardust8212 21:59, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ah ok they showed in reverse order here.

Homicidal[edit]

I think something needs to be added about Hermes homicidal tendencies, such as when he eats a sandwhich full of human parts, or requestion a license to kill, or considering sending everyone into the sun among other things.

Eating Soylent products and having licenses to kill are common in the future, and the Professor is usually the one send them on suicidal missions. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.53.82.182 (talk) 18:33, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Shirley Hemple - misspelled, not a drug reference[edit]

According to Closed Captioning, Hermes orders a Shirley Hemphill ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shirley_Hemphill ). "Hemp" being in the name may be intentional, but it is more likely just a contrast of body type/personality joke.

Fair use rationale for Image:Labarbara.gif[edit]

Image:Labarbara.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Smoke=bad habit=killling ??[edit]

Why smoke marijuana is a bad habit? and why is in the same category of bad habit that killing peole? Stupid morality...

Zoidberg[edit]

why no mention of his inexplicable hatred of Doctor Zoidberg? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.178.227.49 (talk) 20:27, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Probably because everyone has an inexplicable hatred of Zoidberg. Lots42 (talk) 05:27, 23 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Source search[edit]

I'm interested to see how this goes. The AfD said there wasn't enough real world perspective so hopefully you can find some good stuff to flesh this out. I found this interview [1] and will look for some more to help you out when I get a little time. Stardust8212 20:08, 1 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello folks,

The page for Hermes Conrad has been nominated for deletion for a third time, but instead of redirecting it to the List of Futurama characters without leaving an adequate description of Hermes like last time, I though that we could merge it along with the other primary characters into one page (with the exception of Fry, Leela, and Bender, who are notable enough for their own pages).

I propose two solutions:

Here's a link to a draft for option 2. If anyone has any additional thoughts or proposals, feel free to comment below. Cheers, --WuTang94 (talk) 00:58, 23 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Edit: Other thoughts include expanding List of Futurama characters to contain detailed descriptions of main and supporting characters. Characters who get their pages deleted could get redirected there--WuTang94 (talk) 20:22, 28 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hermes Conrad was merged to List of Futurama characters#Hermes Conrad per Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Hermes Conrad (3rd nomination). – wbm1058 (talk) 01:35, 25 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
